Golden Gate Park has been my backyard for the last ten years. But this is nothing in the park's 150 year history. Designed and created in an effort to civilize 19th C San Francisco, Golden Gate Park was modeled on the English country estate - which was intended to offer a controlled experience of the natural world. I get lost in this world on almost a daily basis, and give myself up to its carefully orchestrated chaos.
